Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving, we decide to host at our house. I have now gained more respect for what my mom had to do every year for us. It was so much work to do a turkey! Thankfully my husband took on this job while Rett and I watched:)

Our table set up. We had little foam turkeys with everyone's names on it. We had the girls make their own turkeys.

Our niece and good friend's little girl decorated Christmas cookies while the cooking was finishing up.

We have so much to be thankful for: a job (this time two years ago, Rusty was unemployed), our marriage, family, community and friends, and of course little Rett. We are so grateful that the Lord has intrusted us with all that He has given us.

On black Friday, despite my desire to be with what Rusty calls commercial America and shop, we decided as a family to cut down our first family Christmas tree. What a treat! I have always wanted to do something like this! We actually got to choose our tree and Rusty cut it down! It will be so fun when Rett can cut down the tree with his dad.

Christmas tree shopping makes Rett exhausted!
So I am sitting in my living room looking at our beautiful tree and smelling the sweet aromas of Christmas. Bring on the Christmas season!
